Create a safe, comfortable place for yourself. Feel yourself relaxing as you breathe in and out slowly, letting each breath relax your body more and more. Next imagine that someone comes along and tells you that there's something wrong with your skin—that it isn't perfect anymore because there are these little bumps all over it, like pimples. But then they tell you not to worry: they'll help fix them for you! They tell you where they are so they can be taken care of right away...and then they go away again so that they won't disturb

I'm going to help you learn a bit more about hypnosis, and specifically how it can help you deal with your fear of skin disease. I know that sounds scary, but we're going to take it slow and easy. And by the end of our time together, you'll have a much better sense of what hypnosis is and how it works.
The first thing I want to talk about is something called "the unconscious mind." When we talk about the unconscious mind, we're referring to all of the thoughts that are going on in your head at any given moment—whether or not you're aware of them. For example, right now you may be thinking about what's on your grocery list or whether or not you remembered to lock your front door before leaving home today. Those thoughts are part of your unconscious mind.
In addition to those kinds of thoughts, there are other types of things going on in your brain at any given moment—things like emotions and feelings—which are also part of this larger idea called "the unconscious mind." You will be guided through a visualization that will allow you to visualize your skin as healthy and beautiful. Now I want you to pretend that there's a mirror in front of you on this beach—a mirror that has been especially made for this meditation by someone who cares about you very much (like maybe an aunt or uncle). In fact, they've made this mirror just for YOU! And when they gave it to you, they told you how much they love spending time with

Once you've done that, close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Repeat this until you feel like you truly are relaxed and ready to go.
Once you're relaxed, I want you to imagine yourself at a beach, where the sun is shining brightly overhead and there's no sign of anyone else around for miles. The water is calm and clear; it feels like it's washing away all of your stress from everyday life—all of the worries that keep you up at night or make you feel anxious during the day. It's taking all of those things away from you so that nothing can bother you anymore. There's only one thing on your mind: relaxing into this beautiful setting with no worries about anything else in the world!
Now imagine yourself walking down onto that beach and taking off all of your clothes so that they're completely soaked with fresh water from the ocean waves crashing around them before they dry off again once they get back onto land again (or maybe even before then). The water feels
