If you haven't been to the beach before, it can be a scary place. There are so many people around and so much noise coming from the waves and other people's conversations. But no matter where you go on this planet, there is always noise happening around you. Sometimes it seems like there's so much going on that it makes it hard to focus on what's important.
Today we're going to learn how to tune out all of those distractions and focus on one thing: You! And how good it feels when you are able to focus on yourself!

Maybe a friend told you that there were sharks at the beach once and you never forgot about it. Whatever it is, I want you to really focus on what makes you nervous about going to the beach.
Now imagine yourself at the beach—but this time, in your mind's eye, no one else is around. There are no other people around and no one will see how afraid you are if they were there. You are just alone on the sand with a good book and maybe some sunscreen if that would make you feel better. You can take as long as necessary to read or relax under an umbrella in this scenario until you feel calm enough to move forward with whatever comes next in our session together!

But it doesn't have to stay that way. In this meditation, we're going to help you become comfortable with beaches again by guiding you through a visualization of walking along the shoreline, feeling the sand under your feet and watching the waves roll in.
As we go through this visualization, I want you to focus on all of your senses—what sounds do you hear? What does it smell like? What does it taste like? What does it feel like? And what does it look like?
We'll start with hearing. Can you hear any birds singing or wind blowing through trees? Does it sound loud or quiet? Do any sounds stand out in particular? Are there any noises there at all or is everything completely silent?
Now let's move on to smell. What are some smells around you right now? Is there anything on your clothes or body that might be causing an odor? If not, what do you smell like right now? Do any scents stand out more than others? Is there anything
